WELCOME TO MY GALLERY! I invite you to visit my web site and those of my friends and family. My web site is dedicated to my husband Marvin, to my sons Michael and Matthew and their families, and to all my friends in Italy.
This is our home in Cambridge, Massachusetts, from which I travel to Italy as often as I can. Although I am not of Italian descent, I am a great admirer of the Italian language and culture. I've worked as a painter/artist/designer practically all my life and have also taught needlework and painting. For many years I had my own business (Keepsake Kits and Keepsake Needle Notes), designing and manufacturing needlepoint kits of Boston and New England, and producing stationery note cards from these designs. I have designed large needlepoint tapestries for several Massachusetts temples. I painted my designs on the canvas, chose the yarns and the stitches, and taught the women of the synagogues how to do the needle work, supervising the projects from the beginning to their completion. On the two "Creation" pieces, the first line of the Bible is written in Hebrew: "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth..."
I hope that you will enjoy visiting the galleries, and I would be happy to know your impressions, if you would care to leave me a message in my Guest Book... or write me at.. S O L I T ' S G A L L E R I E SCopyright Harriet Solit - All rights reserved |
